1st Day: Individual arrival in Hamburg

This famous hanseatic city offers a wealth of cultural attractions to light up your evening. Get in the mood for your cycling tour with a boat trip from the harbour, a visit to the old warehouse district or a climb up Hamburg’s symbolic church — the “Michel”.

2nd Day: Hamburg — Lauenburg (approx. 55 km)

After leaving Hamburg on the Elbe Cycle Path you will pass the health resort of Lütjenburg, which awaits you with its clean air, historic marketplace, Baroque town hall and former dyer’s house with its richly ornamented door — a must-see! The shipping town of Lauenburg is your destination with beautiful restored half-timbered houses from the 16th/ 17th century.

3rd Day: Lauenburg — Hitzacker (approx. 55 km)

Today you will pass lots of sleepy villages nestling along the Elbe river. Soon you will get to the Kneipp-certified health resort of Hitzacker. The attractive old town is an invitation to stroll around.

4th Day: Hitzacker — Wittenberge (approx. 78 km)

This stretch of your tour leads you across the former German-German border as you glide along the Elbe embankmentthrough the “Wendland” region to Wittenberge.

5th Day: Wittenberge — Havelberg (approx. 38 km)

Your route offers a number of sights including storks in the village of Rühstaedt and excellent views across river landscapes. In the afternoon you will arrive in Havelberg — or “the Green Island and Cathedral City”, as its residents lovingly refer to it. This charming city at the confluence of the Havel and Elbe has a rich history as an episcopal see.

6th Day: Havelberg — Rathenow (approx. 53 km)

Today you say goodbye Elbe and hello Havel! Your new companion will guide you through the green fields and hamlets of the Schollener Land region to the “Optical City” of Rathenow.

7th Day: Rathenow — Brandenburg (approx. 65 km)

Make sure you take your swimming togs with you on today’s tour. You pedal through the network of lakes to the NorthWest of the town of Brandenburg. The town itself is spread over numerous islands which have to get explored.

8th Day: Brandenburg — Potsdam (approx. 60 km)

The day starts with dyke-top tracks through open land. Make sure to leave enough time for a look around the flower town of Werder, which stretches across a number of idyllic islands in the Havel. The last part of the day leads you to Potsdam along the promenade at Templin Lake.

9th Day: Potsdam — Central Berlin (approx. 50 km)

As you cross Glienicke Bridge you will not only switch to the other side of the Havel, but also reach your final port of call — Berlin. After passing the “Großer Wannsee” lake, which you can also elect to cross by ferry (ticket not included), you will soon reach the district of Spandau. There you will meet the Spree river, which will accompany you all the way into central Berlin.

10th Day: Departure from Berlin
