Begin your cycling tour in the medieval town of Rothenburg, only a few kilometres away from the source of the Altmühl. You cycle through the nature park Altmühltal and the Franconian lake country and will discover a landscape of unique beauty. The town of Eichstätt is a comprehensive artwork and the last stop of your bicycle tour.

3 different hotel categories to choose

1st Day: Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Individual arrival. Take a walk with the Rothenburg night watchman through dreamlike alleys.

2nd Day: Rothenburg ob der Tauber – Herrieden/Ansbach (approx. 45-55 km)

Cycle through the upper Altmühl valley to the picturesque town of Leutershausen, The medieval ambience can still be felt in Herrieden. Impressive monuments can be found in the former residence city of Ansbach.

3rd Day: Herrieden/Ansbach – Region Weißenburg (approx. 55-65 km)

The romantic Altmühlsee Lake in Gunzenhausen invites one to take a break. Located in the nature park Altmühltal, highlights include the historic Weißenburg and the thermal town of Treuchtlingen.

4th Day: Region Weißenburg – Region Eichstätt (approx. 45-55 km)

Bizarre rock formations now line the following river course, through a landscape of unique beauty. A natural baroque jewel is the bishop’s town Eichstätt. Those fond of chocolate and coffee can enjoy culinary delights in the Café Chocolatique.

5th Day: Region Eichstätt
