Bali + Java Bike Adventure
Discover Indonesia
This adventure is no problem for an average trained athlete, the average age is 25 to over 60. All bike tours in Bali & Java can be varied according to the condition of the group, and there is always an escort vehicle with you. And if you can’t or don’t want to experience all the tours in the saddle, you’re in good hands in the vehicle. There will certainly be anything but boredom there, too!

Pick up from Ngurah Rai Airport. Depending on arrival, there is still enough time for a welcome cocktail, to complete the bikes and for a detour to the center of the artist village of Ubud for dinner. B&B
2nd Day: Ayung River Rafting
We don’t want to overdo anything on the first day, so we don’t want to rip any trees out of the jungle just yet!! The spirit of adventure is satisfied when we enjoy the breathtaking nature in the canyon of the Ayung River by rafting boat. Naturally, we cover the rest of the way by bike. During an evening stroll through the crazy city of Ubud we can relax our legs a bit. B&B/L Hotel in Ubud
Tour length: 25 km, altitude difference: 210, route surface: asphalt and concrete paths, gentle rafting in indescribable nature: 10 km, tour duration: approx. 6 hours
3rd Day: A cool bath in Holy Water
Even today we don’t want to rip any coconut palm trees out of the green island, so we leave it at a beautiful bike tour through rice fields and traditional villages. On the way we pass the steepest rice terraces on the island of Bali and visit a glass blowing workshop. Arrived in the stunning setting of the Mengening Temple, we are allowed to take a dip in the crystal clear Holy Water before enjoying our traditional banana leaf lunch. Refreshed and strengthened, we then roll down through rice fields to our hotel in Ubud. After this excursion we plunge back into the full life of the artists’ city of Ubud. The evening is again all about the crazy city of Ubud with great shops, a variety of nice *”warungs” and restaurants. If you want to be prepared for the next day, you can order a *”smooked duck” or a *babi guling. B&B/L Hotel in Ubud
Tour length: 32 km, altitude difference: 552, route surface: asphalt, tour duration: approx. 5-6 hours.
4th Day: Magic Mountains
For the first time, it really goes into the mountains. If the evening “babi guling” is still in your stomach, you now have the opportunity to burn off excess calories… We cycle the first few kilometers relatively calmly along the rice terraces and COCOS plantations, taking a look at the canyon of the Ayung River , before later the road winds through coffee and cocoa plantations and dense forests up to the edge of the long-extinct volcano. It’s a bike tour with more than 900 meters of altitude difference, but don’t worry, a mini-bus will be our constant companion on this day. We stay in a beautiful bungalow complex with a great view of the island. B&B Hotel in Bedugul
Tour length: 40 km, altitude difference: 900, track surface: asphalt, tour duration: approx. 6 hours.
5th Day: A tropical trip
In order to give the strained sitting muscles the opportunity to relax, we are going on a trekking tour today. After a short bus ride we walk through farmland with lots of exotic fruits such as tamarillo, passion fruit, oranges, mango and arrive in a gorge in the middle of the mountain jungle. It doesn’t take long for the screeching of the birds to give way to the roar of the waterfalls. After crossing a bamboo bridge we reach a waterfall with a natural pool behind the thicket. A great opportunity to enjoy the lush nature and take a cool bath….. Here there is a traditional *”nasi campur” to strengthen yourself. Only a narrow path through thicket and ancient trees then brings us to a waterfall worth seeing, with a bit of luck we will also find the famous *kopi luwak. After visiting a small coffee farm, we cover the last few meters to the hotel by bus without much effort. B&B/L Hotel in Bedugul
Hiking: 7 km, tour duration: approx. 6 hours
6th Day: Bali Sea departure
Today we visit the Bratan Temple before we descend almost 30 kilometers to the north coast of Bali through dense clove plantations and pretty mountain villages to the magnificent rice terraces. If there is enough time, we will make a trip to a traditional restaurant on the way and try a real *kopi luwak. For further strengthening there is later a delicious *sate in a lively small town before we swing into the saddles and drive to the hotel with bathing opportunity in the Bali Sea and in the pool (variable). At sunset we admire our next destination on the neighboring island of Java! This tour is variable depending on the condition of the group. B&B Hotel in Pemuteran
Tour length: 35/75km variable, altitude difference: 200/220, track surface: asphalt, tour duration: approx. 6-8 hours.
7th Day: Nationalpark Menjangan + Java Island
We bike to the Menjangan National Park and in the morning enjoy the countless colorful fish and corals under water as divers or snorkelers. We continue by bike a bit past the West Bali National Park to the ferry in the direction of Java! This is the only way we can reach the starting point, which finally allows us to experience our greatest adventure……… B&B Hotel in Bondowoso
Tour length: 35 km, altitude gain: 100, route surface: asphalt, partially broken, transfer to Java in support vehicle, ferry to Java 1 hour, total tour duration approx. 8-10 hours.
8th Day: Directions to the Devil´s Mine
Only hotshots manage the ascent in one day!…… The others are picked up, the minibus is our companion!
38 km, 1800 meters in altitude, if you want, you can tear the jungle giants out of the island again today!
Initially quite flat, but later getting steeper, sugar cane plantations, coconut palms, mountain jungle, lonely villages up to the pass! …………. 8 km descent to the high plateau, covered by extensive coffee plantations and flanked by volcanoes. However, we have not yet reached our goal, the base camp at the crater! There are still about 10 km of ascent through coffee plantations and wild nature. Then we have reached our goal, the base camp of the Devils Mine has been reached! A barbecue evening concludes the eventful day. B&B/D – Overnight stay in a guesthouse
Tour length: 38 km variable, altitude difference: 1800, track surface: asphalt, partially broken, tour duration: approx. 8 hours
9th Day: Ijen Vulcano
Torn wisps of steam ripple eerily on a greenish surface of water. At sunrise one has the impression of standing in front of the gigantic poison cauldron of an oversized witch’s kitchen……If you want to experience this, you have to tackle the 400 meters in altitude from the camp to the rim of the crater with or without a bike at dusk! Arriving at the top (2250m) we have an indescribable view of the nearby volcanoes Raung (3332m) and Semeru (3676m), which we enjoy before we experience the fascinating descent by bike and nothing other than the ocean should be our goal! ……No less than 35 km descent through jungle, COCOS and coffee plantations! The intermediate station is a clear natural pool near a waterfall in the middle of a tropical landscape, perfect for taking a cool dip. Refreshed and strengthened, we can do some business with the Javanese people at the market in Banyu before we take the minibus to the hotel. B&B Hotel in Banyuwangi
Tour length: 35 km, altitude difference: 70, -2250, route surface: 30 km asphalt, 5 km different plantation paths, tour duration: approx. 6 hours
10th Day: The Jungle Book Life
Today the bus takes us to the starting point of our tour through the gigantic rainforest and we first say “adios” to civilization, or “sampai jumpa” in Indonesian! The destination is our small campsite on a lonely bay right on the edge of the Meru Betiri National Park. Between these two points there is only about 440 meters in altitude and 10 km of flowing jungle trail, the rest is asphalt and gravel in the middle of rubber, coffee and cocoa plantations. On the pass we still have a fantastic view of the mountains of the Raung massif behind us. Ahead of us is a descent of a special kind, we meander past lianas, lush ferns and jungle giants. Shy black monkeys and screeching birds watch us from the treetops of the jungle on our way to the dream beach. In a traditional palm sugar factory we have the opportunity to taste the delicious palm sugar before we pitch our tents in a dream bay. A refreshing swim in the ocean waves ends the eventful day. After sunset we sit together on the beach with grilled fish and a good mood and enjoy the sound of the waves. Camp/B&B/BBQ
On this day there is the possibility to take a trip to the turtle beach Sukamade to watch sea turtles laying their eggs. The excursion is optional and the price depends on the number of people (50 to 70 € per person) Around 6 p.m. the jeep will drive you from our camp to the Meru Betiri National Park, the drive to Sukamade takes about 90 minutes, then follows a hike (1km) to the beach. The laying of the eggs can last until midnight, after which the jeep takes us back to our camp. However, there is no guarantee that you will experience this natural spectacle. Our guide will be happy to provide you with detailed information.

Their prey includes tuna in particular, but squid and smaller sharks are also sometimes caught in the nets. Then we get back on our saddles and drive through traditional villages and various plantations until we reach the beach at the “Red Island” Pulau Merah.
