The Danube cycle tour becomes a winery cycle tour. There is a lot to discover on a cycling holiday on the Danube Cycle Path: the Mostviertel – home of fruit wines, the Wachau and the Kremstal – widely known for Riesling and Grüner Veltliner and the vineyards just outside Vienna.

1st Day: Linz

You start the winerytour on the Danube cycle path in Linz . Take a leisurely stroll through the historic old town up to Linz Castle. The Danube and the Urfahr district are at your feet. A visit to a coffee house with a piece of Linzer Torte is a great way to end the day.

2nd Day: Linz – Ardagger, approx. 55 km

The first stage on the Danube Cycle Path takes you to the Mostviertel. Orchards line the path of the bike tour in Lower Austria. The region’s fruit is processed into wonderfully sparkling fruit wine – better known in Austria as must. Tip: A visit to the MostBirnHaus tells the story in an entertaining way from processing to tasting.

3rd Day: Ardagger – Melk, approx. 40 km

Through the wild Strudengau you cycle along the DCP, along the river to the world-famous Wachau wine-growing region. The hotel offers a cozy wine tasting for you. Getting to know Grüner Veltliner and Riesling for the first time will make your taste buds rejoice.

4th Day: Melk – Krems, approx. 40 km

On a cycling holiday in Austria you go through the well-known wine-growing towns of Spitz, Weißenkirchen and Dürnstein to Krems. A very special experience awaits you there – a fun picnic in the vineyard, filled with regional delicacies.

5th Day: Krems – Vienna, approx. 45 km + train journey

Today you cycle along the Danube from the Kremstal wine-growing region to the garden city of Tulln. You can reach Vienna by train. The Austrian capital is itself a wine-growing city with over 600 hectares of vineyards. Tip: End your wine cycle tour in Austria with a rustic Viennese Heurigen.

6th Day: Vienna

Individual journey home or additional nights return journey to Linz by train (included).

There are exceptions to this disclaimer which are loss of keys, batteries and chargers of e-bikes, as well as damage due to intent or gross negligence.
