Two hotel categories to choose
1st Day: Poreč
Individual arrival. Info meeting with representative at 7pm at the hotel reception area where we will provide you with the package including hotel vouchers, bicycle with all equipment, maps and a road book.
2nd Day: Momjan, approx. 49km
In the morning you will take a shuttle to Momjan, where you start riding on wine roads heading towards the coast. The ride along this trail is particularly pleasant because you are riding along the coastline with beautiful bays where you can enjoy the breathtaking Mediterranean landscape with green vineyards and olive groves. Today you are passing through town of Novigrad and by Mirna river delta along the coastline until you reach Poreč.
3rd Day: Vrsar roundtrip, approx. 35 km
After riding along the coast we reach Vrsar, a romantic fishermen village where the famous Casanova came back even two times. Our bike ride continues through the magical forest Kontija with a panoramic view of the beautiful landscape of the Lim bay, passing by the pirate cave and then heading inland passing through small villages back to Poreč.
4th Day: Grožnjan, approx. 51 km
In the morning you will take a shuttle to Grožnjan, typical Istrian medieval town sprout high on top of a hill along the right coast of the river Mirna, renaissance loggia dating from 1585 and the beautiful St. Vitus and Modesto’s baroque church. If you just occasionally pass along its streets in which almost every door leads to art studios or galleries, and which windows from every direction echoes the sounds of different music genres, from classical to jazz, you’ll understand why Grožnjan is known as “The town of artists”. From Grožnjan you’ll ride on quiet Istrian village roads through beautiful Završje, ride alonf the river Mirna and arrive to Motovun, surely the most famous and attractive Istrian medieval hill-town. The road continues to the town of Višnjan which is on 246m altitude and from there you’ll be able to catch a view on west Istrian coast and the coastal town of Poreč.
5th Day: Kastelir roundtrip, approx. 44 km
The ride along this trail is particularly pleasant because you’re riding along the coastline with beautiful bays where you can enjoy the breath-taking Mediterranean landscape with green vineyards and olive groves and taste home-made food, wine, brandy and honey produced in this area. Continuing along the trail, you will reach Višnjan, a little place that vaunts an astronomical observatory ranked among the 5 most important observatories in the world. If you have found here your guiding star, or if you have refreshed yourself with a glass of excellent home-made wine we can continue our ride towards Poreč where our adventure has, actually, began.
6th Day: Rovinj roundtrip, approx. 62 km
In the morning you will take a shuttle to Tinjan.Start your ride through small villages, passing by the the ruins of the medieval town Dvigrad. Just to stir your imagination – you are now in an area where many legends and mysteries based on historical events still live on: that of Dvigrad devastated by the plague because of an ancient curse, of the buried treasure of Captain Morgan’s pirates near the village named after him (Mrgani), of the cave where the remains of the primitive man were found and where, as legend has it, St Romuald used to live as a hermit in the Middle Ages. Continue riding on a small local road, first you will reach Svetvinčenat, with its grandiose Morosini-Grimani citadel with towers, parish church, municipal loggia and a line of 16th century houses of the Renaissance and a town cistern – šterna in the middle, Savičenta really belongs to a range of the most attractive Venetian creations of that period effected in this region which held one of the rare witchcraft trials in Istria during 7th century.Continue cycling on asphalted road you will reach Bale, you can visit the Bembo palace, city square and museum. From Bale you will be riding on mix of gravel and asphalted roads and trail all along the coast until you will reach Rovinj, your goal of this tour, the “Pearl of Adriatic”. Also called Istrian Venice, old town which was once an island and then connected with land, famous for its traditional boat called batana.
7th Day: Poreč
Individual departure after breakfast or extension.
