Individual arrival in Havanna, collect first impressions during the drive to the hotel (transfer optional). If you arrive early, you can use the rest of the day to get a first impression of the vibrant metropolis. Alternatively, rest at your hotel.

After breakfast, you will meet your guide and together explore the old town, La Habana Vieja, the centre piece of the city founded in the 16th century. You will have lunch in a restaurant here. In the afternoon, visit the Callejón de Hamel cultural project, in the centre of Havana. (B,L)

Before leaving for Viñales, we will drive together to our garage in Havana, where you will receive your bike and it will be adjusted for you. Then it’s off to the west of the island. On roads with little traffic, we ride through a valley with unique cave formations and rocky outcrops. After lunch you will reach your hotel, which is located in a small Mogote valley. (B, L, D)

After breakfast you set off for Cayo Jutías. The drive takes us past tobacco and pineapple fields. Here we move along country roads with hardly any traffic, so that cycling always remains pleasant for you. At noon you will arrive at the Cayo Jutías peninsula, where you will have lunch. In the afternoon you can either swim there or go on a small tour of the surroundings on your own and visit the lighthouse, for example. (B, L, D)

Today you will follow a small cycle path through beautiful landscapes. You will follow the tracks of tobacco. Your guide will tell you all about drying houses, tobacco plants and cigars. And you will certainly have the opportunity to buy some “puros” directly from the producer. (B, L, D)

Today a short stage takes you to Cienfuegos. On the way you will visit Guama, where you will take a boat trip on the Laguna del Tesoro. You will also see an Indian-style reconstructed village and can visit a crocodile farm. In the afternoon, you will explore the charming city of Cienfuegos and its small fortress by bike. The colonial centre impresses with its often unique architecture. (F)

On the way to Trinidad you cycle along the foot of the Sierra del Escambray, Cuba’s second highest mountain range. Your view sweeps over a densely forested, green hilly landscape. The evening is at leisure. For friends of Cuban music, the “Casa del la Trova” is recommended. There is live music almost every evening – or techno in the disco “Las Cuevas” until early in the morning. (B)

Today you take a break in Trinidad on your bike tour to the highlights of Cuba. In the morning you will explore the sights of Trinidad during a guided city tour. Let yourself be impressed by the charm of the city. Marble, colonial style and mahogany – even today, the well-preserved mansions of the sugar barons bear witness to the former wealth of the city. Large parts of the city centre are closed to car traffic, there are no advertisements and only a few small souvenir stands. A walk through the city feels like a journey back in time. In the afternoon you have time to go out on your own and enjoy the beach of Playa Ancón, for example.

Today you will go on a bicycle tour on pleasant cycle paths in the Valle de los Ingenios east of Trinidad. In the 19th century, more than 50 mills were in operation here and helped Trinidad to great wealth. You cycle through the sugar cane fields and stop at the slave tower Torre Iznaga. You can climb this 50-metre-high tower and enjoy a great view. Afterwards you cycle back to Trinidad.

To your destination of the day, Santa Clara, the tour leads through an enchanting mountain landscape. In the village of Topes de Collantes, 800 metres above sea level, you will take a break. In the afternoon, the tour continues through a fascinating landscape to Santa Clara. (D)

You will cover the last few kilometers to the destination of your cycling tour through Cuba. Through the Yumuri Valley you head towards the capital. Havana is the cultural centre of the country and delights with numerous museums, palaces and public squares in colonial style. Enjoy the unique flair of Havana once more and review the eventful cycle tour. (B)

Today it is time to say goodbye. Depending on the flight time, you can spend the morning exploring or souvenir shopping in Havana’s beautiful old town. Afterwards, there is a transfer (optional) to the international airport. Alternatively, we will transfer you to your beach hotel, where we will also be happy to organize your beach extension at the hotel of your choice. (B)
