1st Day: Trogir (Embarkation) – Rogoznica

Individual arrival either by car to Trogir or by plane to Split. Embarkation takes place between 2 and 2:30 pm. The first cruise starts at 3 pm leading us to Rogoznica – a village on a small island which is connected to the mainland by a dam. Here we spend our first night.

2nd Day: Rogoznica – Primošten – Šibenik – Skradin (aprx. 15 mi./24 km, 1,150 ft./350 m of elevation)

In the morning, we cycle inland from Rogoznica to Primošten. The marvellous view across the nearby islands will charm you. From there the boat takes us to the city of Šibenik to the mouth of the Krka River. After visiting the famous cathedral and the lovely old town we set off again. On the cruise, we pass the lower course of the river Krka following the river upstream until we reach Skradin. We spend our night here.

3rd Day: National Park of Krka – Skradin – Vodice (aprx. 20 mi./33 km, 1115 ft./340 m of elevation)

The magnificent port of Skradin is the starting point for today’s excursion by boat and on foot to the most famous part of the Krka National Park with its unique waterfalls. After our excursion through this lush green wonderland, we enjoy lunch before setting off on our bikes from Skradin to the well-known holiday town of Vodice. The boat will await our arrival and we will spend the night in Vodice.

4th Day: Vodice – Island of Murter – Nature Park Telašćica (aprx. 19 mi./30 km, 985 ft./300 m of elevation)

In the morning, we bike from Vodice to the island of Murter which is connected to the mainland by a lift bridge in Tisno. We pass the bridge and ride along the waterfront, passing by two very old coastal villages, until we reach a small dock from where the boat takes us on a cruise through the Kornati National Park. An archipelago in crystal clear water which is known for its rich aquatic fauna. Our destination is the nature park Telašćica. In the evening, a walk through the park leads us along the stunning cliffs of the island. The famous Silver Lake – known as the film location for the Winnetou movies – is also located in the park. Overnight stay on the Island of Dugi Otok.

5th Day: Island of Dugi Otok – Zadar (aprx. 19 mi./30 km, 1,475 ft./450 m of elevation)

After breakfast we start our bike tour from the Telascica Nature Park, the starting point for today’s bike ride along this elongated island. During the ride, we are treated to countless unforgettable views of the neighbouring islands in the deep blue sea. We meet the ship in Savar and board for a crossing to the city of Zadar, which for centuries was the political, cultural, and spiritual centre of Dalmatia. Once we arrive, there is the opportunity to take part in a walking tour during which you will find out all about this fascinating city while strolling through the winding alleys and the lively old town, characterised by 3,000 years of history. The night is spent in Zadar.

6th Day: Islands of Ugljan and Pašman – Primošten (aprx. 22 mi./35 km, 820 ft./250 m of elevation)

During breakfast, the boat crosses the channel of Zadar to the island of Ugljan. We have plenty of time to explore the islands Ugljan and Pašman by bike, which are connected by a bridge. During our ride we are rewarded with beautiful views to the mainland and the Kornati Islands. After our bike tour, we sail back to the city of Primošten on the mainland. Here we can enjoy some time swimming and exploring the quaint sea-side village. The night is spent in Primosten.

7th Day: Island of Šolta – Trogir (aprx. 12.5 mi./20 km, 1,150 ft./350 m of elevation)

In the morning, our motor yacht takes us to the island of Šolta. Walled fields, numerous olive groves, locust bean and fig trees line our way. The scent of rosemary accompanies us along our tour across the island. We load the bikes onto the ship in Maslinica and enjoy our last crossing back to Trogir, where we have enough time to visit the UNESCO World Heritage old town, before spending a cosy farewell evening on board the boat.

8th Day: Trogir (Disembarkation)

Disembarkation takes place after breakfast, i. e. around 9 am. Individual trip home or extend your holidays in Croatia.

Important Information

We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary, depending on wind and weather conditions or organizational requirements.

YOUR ACCOMMODATION:

YOUR ShiP – SAN SNOVA

At 31 x 8 m the wooden motor yacht, San Snova, took to the water in 2009 and has worked exclusively with Islandhopping ever since. The construction took shape over the course of three years and set a milestone for the boat-building scene in Croatia, as it is the last wooden boat of its kind to have been built. The 14 guest cabins are air-conditioned with a shower and WC. The crew on board pay special attention to cleanliness and maintenance of the ship and radiate a friendly and inviting atmosphere to the guests.

Group riding pace
On a guided MTB tour the speed of the group is determined by the mountain bikers on regular bikes. If you have hired an e-MTB, we ask you to respect those in the group who are riding without electric support. Those on regular bikes require more time and recovery when biking up hill. We thank you for your understanding.

SINGLE-TRAIL CLASSIFICATION:

To ensure that you are well prepared for your bike tour with Islandhopping and know what technical difficult level to expect, we have created a classification for all single trails that could be ridden on our tours. The difficulty levels included in our classification coincide with the Single Trail Scale which can be found at here.
Blue (easy, S0 – S1): small obstacles such as small roots, small stones, some erosion, gradients of up to 40 %, loose surfaces, tight corners but no hairpins, obstacles can be rolled over. Skilful braking and weight shift required, riding while standing.
Red (medium, S2): loose surfaces, larger stones and roots, steps and shallow stairs, gradients of up to 70 %, light hairpins. Constant readiness to brake, shift of centre weight to overcome obstacles, accurate braking, consistent body tension required.
Black (difficult, S3 – S5): blocked single trails, many large boulders and roots, smooth/slippery surfaces, loose scree slopes, large steps/drops, extremely steep gradients of over 70 %, tight hairpins. Expert level of bike control/handling required.

Note:
Sporty daily tours with partly mountainous stages of about 12,5 to 22 mi./20 to 35 km and 820 to 1,475 ft./250 to 450 m of elevation and trails officially defined by the European single trail scale as levels S0 – S1, very rarely S2. The mountain bike terrain is very diverse as is the landscapes of the different islands. The hilly to mountainous terrain, with some steep ascents, requires a good physical condition. The islands are very different from one another and have a correspondingly large amount of variety while biking: wide natural trails, small side roads, Roman roads, great promenades and narrow paths run across the islands.
