Romantic Cycling around Bruges
Bruges is a nice town with surprisingly peaceful surroundings, the perfect place for a cycling trip! The best examples to describe the beauty of the region are the North Sea Coast or the typical polder landscapes. But, of course, Bruges is much more than a cycling destination. This town is also known as the ‘Venice of the North’ and is in many people’s opinion the most beautiful Belgian city. Enjoy the small medieval town centre with its narrow canals, its numerous chocolate stores, its musea… Bruges has it all!

1st Day: Bruges
Individual arrival. If you don’t want to spend so many days in the Bruges area, you can simply choose your daily destinations and leave on the 5th day. Otherwise, enjoy all the suggested routes and explore the countryside around Bruges.
2nd Day: Tour 1/ castles around Torhout and Wijnendale, approx. 69 km
This tour will bring us to some interesting castles. The first one is d’Aertrycke, which was built in 1869. The other one is Wijnendale castle, which has a history of 8 centuries!
3rd Day: Tour 2/ Damme and Knokke at the North Sea, approx. 59 km
On this tour, you will see the most picturesque villages of Flanders. A very popular example is Damme, because of the beautiful historic town centre. Many people visit Damme for the gastronomy and for the many interesting sights.
4th Day: Tour 3/ Lissewege and De Haan at the North Sea, approx. 52 km
Lissewege is a charming polder village, with a little canal flowing through the centre. The tour goes further to De Haan, a village which preserved the ‘Belle Epoque‘ style (19th century) beautifully.
5th Day: Tour 4/ The park, castle and nature around Bulskampveld, approx. 55 km
On this tour, we will cycle along the canal Bruges – Gent. A popular place of interest is the ‘Van Male Abbey‘. This abbey was once the main castle of the duke of Flanders.
6th Day: Bruges

- NH Hotel (premium): parking at the railway station of Bruges, +/- € 5,50 per day or parking garage ‘t Zand for € 14 per day.
- Hotel Navarra (deluxe): approx. € 20 per night or parking ‘Biekorf‘ for € 14 per day. The public parkings mentioned are within walking distance of the hotels. Pre-booking of the parking is not mandatory.
