Salzkammergut Cycle Path
From Mozart to the Waltz
It goes across the gently rolling landscape of the lakes of the Salzkammergut, starting in the Mozart city of Salzburg. After you have been able to cool off in the turquoise blue lakes, you continue to Upper Austria. From Linz you follow the Danube through the Strudengau to the beautiful Wachau, until you go on a tour of discovery in the waltz metropolis of Vienna.

1st Day: Salzburg
Individual arrival and collection of travel documents. Salzburg is waiting for your visit, explore the city!

2nd Day: Salzburg – Lake Attersee, approx. 60 km
You start towards Wallersee. The shore of the Mondsee accompanies you to the largest inland water in Austria, the Attersee.

3rd Day: Lake Attersee – Lake Traunsee, approx. 50 km, boat trip on Lake Traunsee
A rapid descent to the banks of the Traun compensates for the short climb into the Weißenbachtal. A leisurely bike ride to Ebensee follows.

4th Day: Lake Traunsee – Linz, approx. 30 km + train ride
Along the Traun you go to Lambach, from there you take the train to Linz. Try a piece of Linzer Torte and treat yourself to a coffee in the city.

5th Day: Linz – Grein/surroundings, approx. 60 km
You pass the Danube town Mauthausen and enjoy the impressive natural landscape of the Donauauen, which is home to many rarities of the animal and plant world.

6th Day: Grein/surroundings – Wachau Valley, approx. 65 km
Listen to the story, of the once dangerous shipping on the Danube , in the shipping museum in the Greinburg. Then you get to know the Strudengau with its rugged rock formations.

7th Day: Wachau Valley – Vienna, approx. 65 km + train ride
On your last stage, you will cycle through the gorgeous Wachau UNESCO World Heritage Site. Plan a break at one of the numerous winegrowers and taste the region’s fine wines before heading to Vienna.

If you rent a bike for your trip, you are liable for damage and theft. When booking our rental bike disclaimer, we will assume liability for you so that you bear no financial responsibility in the event of loss or damage to the rental bike (with proper use and security). There are exceptions to this disclaimer which are loss of keys, batteries and chargers of e-bikes, as well as damage due to intent or gross negligence.
