The bike tour begins along the Salzach down the river to Oberndorf, the place of origin of the famous Christmas carol “Silent Night”. On to the Augustinian convent in Michaelbeuern, into the lake region Trumer-Seenland (Obertrumersee, Mattsee, Grabensee) and to Wallersee. The renowned writers Karl Zuckmaier and Stefan Zweig lived here.

From your hotel you travel across the European Nature Reserve “Wenger Moor” to Neumarkt and on to Irrsee, in the Salzkammergut you continue to Mondsee with its castle and the Benedictine monastery. You continue along Attersee, where Gustav Mahler once composed and Gustav Klimt created many of his paintings.

4th Day: Mondsee/Attersee – Traunsee, approx. 55 km

We start the day without our bikes, as we take the boat to Weyregg. From Weyregg you cycle through the valley Aurachtal on to Gmunden with its unique ceramic glockenspiel. You continue along the shore of Traunsee with its Schloss Orth (setting of a popular TV series) to Traunkirchen, where the old Fischerkanzel (Fishermen Pulpit) can be seen.

5th Day: Traunsee – Hallstätter See – Bad Goisern, approx. 30 km

You will cycle to Ebensee and take the train to Obertraun am Hallstättersee with its mighty Dachstein glacier massif and its charming ice caves. You bike along the lake shore to the highlight of the tour, the world heritage site of Hallstatt. Here you have the opportunity of visiting the charnel house and the salt mine. Our tour takes us along the eastern shore bicycle path on to Bad Goisern.

From Bad Goisern we travel along the river Traun to the time-honoured imperial health resort Bad Ischl with its many historical places of interest.
