Family Biketour on the Danube Cycle Path
Children love to ride bikes. So what could be nicer than cycling along the Danube Cycle Path together? The little ones take child-friendly stages day after day with ease. Exciting adventures are waiting along the way: castles, ships, mermaids and the fairytale world of the Linz Grottenbahn. And in between, the Danube beaches invite you to play and relax. Ideal for the whole family!

1st Day: Passau
Individual arrival in Passau, travel documents in the hotel. The rental bikes will be picked up at the bike handover in Passau. The rest of the day is at leisure. Marvel at the mighty church organ in Passau Cathedral or marvel at the lively shipping in the 3-river city of Passau.

2nd Day: Passau – Niederranna, approx. 15 km
The first day of cycling begins with a boat trip on the Danube. From Kasten you finally continue by bike! After just a few kilometers, the Danube mermaid Isa greets passing cyclists. Family tip: The Haus am Strom water adventure world in Engelhartszell

3rd Day: Niederranna – Obermühl, approx. 20 km
You soon reach the world famous “Schlögener Schlinge”, where the River Danube made its way through the hard granite rock in an S-loop. Fortresses and ruins flank the wooded hills and emboss the scenery. Family tip: Walk to the viewpoint of the “Schlögener Schlinge”.

4th Day: Obermühl – Aschach, approx. 20 km
You leave behind the Upper Danube Valley and the fertile Eferdinger Becken spreads out in front of you. Vegetable & fruit areas under cultivation line up along the cycle path and we recommend tasting the piquant Essiggurkerl or the delicious asparagus specialities. Family tip: the ruin Schaunberg revives the Knight’s time.

5th Day: Eferding – Linz, approx. 20 km
Cycle leisurely along the south bank of the Danube to the power station in Ottensheim, where you cross the river. From Ottensheim you take the train to Linz. Family tip: Fairytale world in the Grottenbahn on the Pöstlingberg in Linz

6th Day: Linz
Individual departure or extension. Return transfer to Passau by train (included)

If you rent a bike for your trip, you are liable for damage and theft. When booking our rental bike disclaimer, we will assume liability for you so that you bear no financial responsibility in the event of loss or damage to the rental bike (with proper use and security). There are exceptions to this disclaimer which are loss of keys, batteries and chargers of e-bikes, as well as damage due to intent or gross negligence.

- Locked and covered parking garage: € 11 per day
- Parking garage with E-connection: € 11 per day plus € 30 charging fee
- Fenced and uncovered parking: € 7 per day
- Parking garage or parking space must be reserved prior your arrival of your cycling tour, payable on the spot
